About this tool
Snowball pays off the smallest balance first, for quick wins. Avalanche pays off the highest interest rate first, which usually costs the least interest. Both keep paying the minimums on every other debt and roll each freed-up payment into the next one.

Which method is better?
Avalanche usually saves more interest; snowball can be easier to stick with. The calculator shows you the difference in dollars.
