About this tool

Federal income tax is estimated with the 2026 brackets and standard deduction for your filing status, spread evenly across your paychecks. Social Security is 6.2% up to the 2026 wage base of $184,500 and Medicare is 1.45%, plus 0.9% above $200,000 ($250,000 married filing jointly).

State income tax rules differ widely, so enter your state's rate (0 for states with no income tax). Tax credits, special deductions and your actual W-4 elections can change your real withholding. Figures are estimates for planning, not tax, legal or financial advice.

Questions

Which tax year does this use?

The 2026 federal brackets, standard deductions and Social Security wage base.

Why might my real paycheck differ?

Your employer withholds based on your W-4, and credits, special deductions, local taxes and benefits are not included. Treat the result as an estimate.
